Makeup's Expiration Date

Did you know that makeup has an expiration date? Well, it does! Everything from mascara to eye shadow expires. This is why it is important that you keep your beauty products organized and throw out all of your expired makeup. Every product has a different expiration date. For example, your mascara may only last you a couple months, while your lipsticks are probably safe for over a year, depending on how well you take care of them.

To keep track of when your makeup expires, keep little labels handy so you can put the expiration date on each product. If you know the expiration date of your makeup, you can throw it out when it gets too old, keeping all of your makeup fresh. You may be able to tell when products expire if it has an odd texture or smell, but knowing the date you bought it and when it will expire is a much more accurate way of telling.
Here is how long you can expect your products to last:
Mascara - 4 to 6 months
Eye Creams - 6 months
Lipstick - 12 to 18 months
Eye Pencils - 12 to 18 months
Lip Pencils - 12 to 18 months
Liquid Foundation - 2 years
Sunscreen - 2 years
Moisturizer - 2 years
Concealer - 2 years
Powder - 2 years
Powder Blush - 2 years
Cream Blush - 2 years
Face Cream- 2 years
Eye Shadow - 2 to 3 years

If you have any products that are past their expiration date THROW THEM AWAY. If you use makeup that is expired, it can cause rashes, breakouts, or eye infections. So, throw out that old makeup and start fresh!
