10 Tips To Clear Skin

If you have acne or blemishes, you know how frustrating it can be trying to get rid of them. There are many easy things you can do to help improve your skin and prevent future breakouts. If you have a clogged pore, it will take 2-3 weeks for the pimple to actually show up, which is why it is important to take good care of your skin on a daily basis. How you treat your skin and what you put into your body affect your skin, which is why it is so important to have a good skin care routine and healthy habits in place.

1. Remove all of your makeup before you go to sleep. This gives your skin a change to breathe and helps prevent clogged pores.

2. Wash your face every morning and night. I really like using the Clarisonic with my Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser. It gets deeper in your pores than you would if you were just using a washcloth or your hands and it also helps remove any dry/dead skin.

3. Wash your pillowcase frequently. There can be dirt and bacteria on your pillowcase, which causes breakouts.
4. Deep clean your makeup brushes frequently. It is okay to spot clean your makeup brushes throughout the week, but you should deep clean your makeup brushes about once every week, because your makeup brushes (and even sponges) have bacteria on them. Use a brush shampoo or even baby shampoo to help get rid of any bacteria on your brushes and to keep breakouts from spreading.

5. Drink a lot of water. Your skin will be more hydrated and clear because drinking water helps flush toxins out of your body. It is recommended to drink 6-8 glasses of water a day.

6. Don't touch your face. Your hands can spread bacteria to your face, so avoid touching it as much as possible. If you are touching your face, make sure to wash your hands before doing so.

7. Use makeup that is labeled non-comedogenic or oil free. This just means that it will not clog your pores.

8. Keep your hair off your face. Your hair has oils in it which can cause breakouts, so try to keep your hair pulled back off your face and put your hair up when you are sleeping.

9. Exercise. Exercising helps remove toxins from your body when you sweat which help reduce breakouts, just be sure to remove all of your makeup before you workout.

10. Eat a healthy diet. Fruits and veggies are full of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants which hep reduce breakouts.

*It is also important to see a dermatologist on a regular basis if you are having problems with your skin because they can tell you what specific products you can use that will benefit your specific skin need.
